The reminder of the tragedy of December 6, 1989 Polytechnic suddenly figured prominently in my recent "Letters from Malawi '. Neither the years nor the fact of living so far in Africa can not erase the sad memories. So I traced from the writings that I've forgotten shared. However, the three dots "... " the beginning of the quotation suggest a phrase that has been intentionally omitted. However, the idea that the U.S. Constitution grants a right to possess a firearm is shattered by this omission. What is it?
The complete sentence reads; "a regular militia is necessary for state security. Thus, American constitutional law to possess and carry a firearm can not be infringed. " The prerequisite for exercising this right is therefore conditional on the need to form a militia where conditions warrant. This made sense at the time of New England. At that time, the population has categorically rejected the idea of creating an army to the king's example, which at its discretion, could enlist the simple people and declare war. The militia was an alternative that meets the needs of the then newly established American Republic. In an emergency, the militia could be called by the President of the United States of America and returned home after the unrest ended.
These militias are gone. Indeed, the United States is today the largest military power in the world. It has the necessary weapons for its national security. Historically, the right of American citizens to own a firearm they were granted to meet a requirement that has lost its raison d'etre for a very long time.
Today, supporters of U.S. law to own and carry a firearm use a constitutional right that is obsolete. They manipulate the words of the U.S. Constitution to sell firearms without hindrance. This justification has become an ideology contrary to the ideals founders of the United States of America.
In Canada, it is otherwise. Our Constitution has never granted a right to own or carry a firearm. It is a privilege, for example, to sport hunters. This privilege is not questioned by the Federal Law on the Control of Firearms. This is pure fabrication to claim, as stated by the NRA, that the law in a context of international conspiracy to ban all weapons. It is fair to say that the NRA has disproportionately influence on our Canadian politicians to impose an ideology that has no place in Canada.

Guns are made to kill. The uncontrolled possession of a firearm increases the risk of slaughter. Despite the existence of a Canadian law for the verification of such weapons, too many women are murdered in Canada not to mention children and men. By cons, this is not because a depressed husband kills his wife, his children and commits suicide with a firearm registered as the law on gun control is worthless. Appreciate the hundreds or thousands of people who are still alive with this law.
The NRA says it is a right to possess a firearm.
